Federal Data Privacy Bill Introduced in Congress

Legislation to establish a national protocol for data protection has been reintroduced in the House of Representatives. So reports The Hill.

capitol 720677 640smallRep. Suzan DelBene, a Washington state Democrat, said that the Information Transparency and Personal Data Control Act would aim to “protect our most sensitive personal information from abuse.”

The bill is the first consumer privacy under the current Congress and arrives after Virginia became the second state to pass its own data-protection regime.
