FCC Chair Wants to End Waiting Period for Data Breach Disclosures  

FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel has called for scrapping a federal requirement that big phone companies wait seven days before disclosing a data breach. So reports TheDenverChannel.com.

world map g766897223 640Rosenworcel issued a proposal that she said would end “the current seven business day mandatory waiting period for notifying customers of a breach.”

Rosenworcel said, “Customers deserve to be protected against the increase in frequency, sophistication and scale of these data leaks.”
