CISA’s Security Guidelines Seem Basic: Cybersecurity Experts

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s recently issued cybersecurity performance goals are fairly rudimentary, which indicates that critical infrastructure operators often aren’t taking simple steps, according to industry experts. So reports Cybersecurity Dive.

CISAGuidance such as using multi-factor authentication (MFA) and switching default passwords is basic but bears repeating to ensure implementation, Futurum Research senior analyst Ron Westall told the news service.

CISA appears to agree, noting that many organizations’ failure to adopt MFA and other fundamental safeguards “repeatedly exposes critical infrastructure to damaging cyber intrusions.”
