Experts Concerned About Facebook Messenger in Wake of NYT Report

Cybersecurity experts are warning users not to send sensitive information on Facebook Messenger after reports that large companies have access to personal data. So reports CBS News.

The New York Times reported that Facebook struck deals with companies like Netflix, Spotify and Yahoo to provide them with access to information about Facebook users. Experts warn the arrangement may have exposed users to “security vulnerabilities like phishing, harassment, hacking, and identity theft,” according to the article. Facebook representatives, though, said the practice was routine to the industry.
