Carnegie Mellon Aims to Close Gender Gap in Cyber Field

Carnegie Mellon University is hoping to close the gender gap for cyber security students. To that end, it named Carolina Zarate, a hacker and aspiring professional, as its 11th EWF INI Fellowship recipient.

The full ride comes as the result of a partnership between the Information Networking Institute and the Executive Women's Forum on Information Security, Risk Management and Privacy. Only 24% of the workforce is women. Previous recipients have gone on to work at Google, Apple, and Microsoft.
