Feds ID Alleged Conti Ransomware Operative, Offer Reward  

The U.S. government has identified an alleged member of the Russia-backed Conti ransomware group for the first time, releasing an image of someone known as “Target.” So reports TechCrunch.

ransomware 3998798 1920The image was shared by the U.S. State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, which said it was offering as much as $10 million for details pertaining to Target and four others suspected to be high-ranking Conti operatives.

The initiative announced, too, that it would pay as much as $5 million “for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of any individual in any country conspiring to participate in or attempting to participate in a Conti variant ransomware incident.”
