Chinese Bitcoin Mine in Wyoming Raises National Security Alarm  

U.S. government officials have been monitoring a Chinese-owned cryptocurrency mining operation in Wyoming for potential national security threats. So reports The New York Times.

china 156219 640smallNational security analysts at Microsoft warned the federal government about the operation when construction began last year.

The site, around a mile from an Air Force base overseeing nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles, could permit the Chinese to “pursue full-spectrum intelligence collection operations,” Microsoft’s team said in an August 2022 report.
