Lawmakers Push for Tougher Cybersecurity Safeguards

Some in Congress are calling for new and improved protections against cyberattacks.

Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) said he intends to ask government agencies how well they’re implementing a ban against Russia anti-virus Kaspersky and is mulling reviving a bill on supply-chain cybersecurity. So reports The Washington Post.

Separately, Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) and Rep. Frank Pallone urged the Department of Homeland Security to do more to bolster the cybersecurity of U.S. energy pipelines. So reports Reuters.
